As you know I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes and have had to reduce my workload. I am studying for a Cert Ed and Betec in Driver Coaching and have had to manage my time more effectively. I am getting weekends free and still earning a good living. I am working in different driver training areas, learner, SAW, NDAC, Fleet and instructor training, this benefits me by always being fresh for my learners and other clients. As with any business you have to look for new markets or develop existing ones. Becoming an ADI has enabled to me achieve some much on a personal and business level. I worked with a client a couple of years ago who had lost their confidence after a serious collision, I sent them a text by mistake and I followed it with a call to explain, I asked how their driving was going on their reply was fantastic 'its brilliant thanks to you, you made all the difference you changed my life' That's what makes the job great. I can't remember the last time I had not got something planned in my diary and in the last two weeks I have two clients ring and ask if they could have some full days from me for their clients and I could only give dates in September. The ADI register numbers are falling, the work opportunities are expanding there is loads of well paid work out there if you look for it. The only problem is I don't have time to complain about the low lesson prices and lack off work, cos I'm living it. So perhaps we are both moaners.
