With the growing demand for our Client Centred courses we have now managed to add to the number of locations that the aCCeLerate BTEC 3 course is available. Here is what some of the ADIs have said about their experience on the course –
Amanda Fee
“Well after spending yesterday on day 1 of the accelerate course with Terry I thought I would try putting into practice the bits I learnt. So my first lesson, a very nervous pupil who is always saying how this is so hard and I don’t think I will ever be able to do this was unknowingly my first victim. Wow!!! What a difference!! Used SEDSS instead of core comps, everything we set out to do was done with more smiles and positivity. So the goal was set that if next weeks lesson goes as well as today she is going to drive home. All with transferable skills she already has. She said that this is the first time she has felt more happy about driving.
I was beaming after I dropped her off because I also learnt a lot about myself today. The rapport building was great too!
Thanks Terry, I can’t wait to see what day 2 gives me. I feel rejuvenated in my work. Thank you! “

“Many, many thanks Carol for a great two days. This was just what I was looking for to bring me ‘up to speed’ with the changes to client centred learning (coaching). It was more than I expected and I found all the comments really encouraging.
I must admit, it had taken some courage for me to do this course. Probably because like most people, I don’t enjoy being criticised but felt I would have to endure some criticism because none of us are perfect.
What a surprise though, you quickly dispelled any fear of this and as a result I got much more out of the two days than I thought. I have now implemented the client centred learning and am actually finding that the lessons are more enjoyable for both the learner and as a result they are more productive. Thanks again, will be in touch soon to book more training.”

“Hi Stewart, Thomas and I really enjoyed the 2 days, as you know, we saw the benefits, heard the positive comments and felt the need to develop as coaches (Is that all the Learning styles covered?) Fantastic course, assignments on their way soon! Cheers”
The Course covers practical skills in:
*Feedback for self development and the development of student drivers ( Module 1 )
*Different communication techniques to address learning styles and create rapport ( Module 2 )
*Different questioning techniques to target knowledge and behaviour or thoughts and feelings ( Module 2 )
*Coaching conversations using GROW and essential coaching skills ( Module 3 )
A workbook gives structure to the course – this is provided at the start of the course
The aCCeLerate two-day course is delivered by a team of specially trained, qualified driver coaches, all of whom have gained the BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Coaching for Driver Development and then attended a two-day course which includes development in assessment skills, assignment marking and presentation and facilitation.
This course gives you the opportunity to gain a BTEC Level 3 qualification if you choose to do the optional practical assignments.
Client Centred Learning
The course gives you the opportunity to develop your client-centred, coaching skills and could be seen as a stepping stone to taking your coaching to the next level
Our experience is that our clients often choose to go on to complete the BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Coaching for Driver Development after completing the course; thus gaining a deeper understanding of coaching in driver training.
‘aCCeLerate’ enables you to adopt a client-centred approach with your customers
Client-centred learning ( or coaching ) raises awareness and builds responsibility so that learner drivers will learn how their personality impacts on their driving behaviour; and develop skills to manage their behaviour safely. A coaching approach empowers them to develop self-evaluation skills and take ownership of their driving once qualified.
